If you’re in business, having a website is a necessity for long-term success and credibility. We recently launched Entreprov Web Solutions a department that builds custom websites for business. In this blog, I want to discuss three main reasons why you should have a website if you’re planning to stay in business.

You build credibility with your customers when they have the ability to visit your website. For example, I attend a lot of networking events in which many of the attendees have their own businesses. One of the top two things I notice people ask for the most is my business card and website. Although having a website does not equate to credibility, people correlate the two. As a result of having a website, you’re allowing the potential customer an opportunity to learn about your business.

With the internet, we look up everything and your website is not an exception. Before the internet, we needed to be more creative of how we learn things and acquire new knowledge. Everything I have questions about I can do a quick Google search to find the answer. As a result of technology advances, I can do a quick search for any company to see what information I can discover. As a business owner, you want to make sure that it’s easy to learn about your business. When people look up your company and find nothing, this raises concern as to why.

Showcasing Your Story

Your ultimate goal should be to share what you do and how you can meet the potential visitor’s needs. For example, Evernote states exactly what they do the moment you land on the home page. In our Web Advisor newsletter, we share best practices on how to illustrate your story for site visitors. In conclusion, illustrating your story allows the customer to build a connection with your brand.
